• Japan Foodservice Industry Sold on Calrose

    Over the past half year, the Japanese foodservice industry has rediscovered U.S. Calrose rice and initiated steps to evaluate its use in traditional Japanese cuisine. Last fall a sample of Calrose as vinegar-seasoned rice for sushi was tested and found to be readily acceptable for use in sushi sold in supermarkets, convenience stores and in rotating sushi bars, called Kaitenzushi.

  • Mexican Holiday Cookbook

    In time for Christmas, USA Rice released a special edition holiday cookbook titled “Celebremos con Arroz” (Let’s Celebrate with Rice). The deluxe full-color cookbook includes 40 rice recipes for special celebrations and holidays. Although the magazine is released in November/December for the popular Christmas season, the magazine features recipes for various holidays and will be a collector’s edition for consumers to use year-round.

  • USA Rice Lets the Trade do the Talking in the UK

    USA Rice has launched a print media campaign here using the UK trade itself to endorse the virtues of U.S.-grown rice in the UK. The campaign features four branded and five generic spokespeople and covers all areas of the UK trade from wholesalers, importers, and millers, as well as key members of the restaurant trade to communicate the qualities of U.S. rice and build around the critical message of consistency.
